The Swedish Society for Nature Conservation on hemp

Hemp is one of the best fiber alternatives. Hemp can withstand most parasite infestations and does not need fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides. The roots go deeper than most commercial crops and bind the soil, preventing soil erosion. Hemp also adds nutrients to the soil.
